I have recently been thinking of doing some nautical baby blankets with applique designs. I found this machine embroidery/applique shop on Etsy, that sells the applique designs I was interested in. This was the first time I purchased from this shop and I went ahead and purchased 10 designs which were so adorable.
First of all, I should have purchased just one design and tested it. I have found in the past that each embroidery/applique designer have their own personal technique as to how their designs stitch out. The reason I bring this up is a couple of months ago I purchased a split paw print design and went ahead and stitched it out before testing it on a doggie blanket for my little yorkie, Trixie. For the most part it stitched out fine but there were some underlying stitches which showed up and I had a hard time ripping them out. (Shucks, I didn’t test the design first!)
This weekend I did contact the shop owner whom I purchased the split paw design from and let them know there was a problem with the stitching layout on one part of the design. In turn, the shop owner corrected the problem within a few hours and sent me the revised design via email. I was quite impressed with their turn around time to fixing the problem and getting back to me.
As you can see below, the designs I purchased on Etsy were perfect and I had a lot of fun choosing fabrics for the applique designs which complimented the fabric on the front side of the baby blanket.
